Start: Kokohead Neighborhood Park
So no shit, there we were!
The last trail of the year, met at none other than Kokohead Neighborhood Park, as we have so many times before.. With the kennel split on whether or not PI was going to send us up those god forsaken stairs one more time for 2025, we waited anxiously.
PI promised the trail would only go in one direction, up.. And then the hares were ON OUT!
Kitty led us all in a couple verses of El Camino before the pack soon followed.
Along the roadway, we passed a really neat Star Wars Christmas decorated yard, and all stopped to take pictures and share in a few laughs.
Eventually, we made it to Koko head stairs, but thankfully never turned left to the start of the stairs and instead continued straight…
Wait a minute, thought several hounds.. Is PI REALLY sending us up Haunama Bay ridge trail?!
We made our way up, and up, and up, past check after check, and even a cute smiley face.. With some overachieving FRBs deciding to run their happy end of year tails up the trail.. Only to find a beautifully laid SBC 15..
Back down the trail, nearly towards the bottom, we found a hidden dollop of flour behind a concrete parking block, and made our way on down. As the front running Eagles arrived at PI’s beer check, not but a minute or two later so did the rest of the Turkeys. Perfectly executed. Well done, hares.
With beer drank, like – actually beer this time, the hounds were once again ON OUT.
The trail from thereon continued down an endless stretch of road until finally coming to China Walls, where Ole Hump had beer waiting for us and a show of teenagers, fearlessly jumping into the crashing waves below.
After getting our fill of entertainment and beer, we were once again ON OUT, making a short way to the beach below to find All I Need Is Cock waiting for us with a Buzz Ball and a swim check.
The blue Buzz Ball was offered, and thinking it would be some fruity or sweet tasting flavor, many took a swig, only to realize it was a potent thick mint chocolate flavor! The reaction can only be described as your taste buds being hit by a train and backed over again. Was it good? Yes. But unexpected, absolutely.
Some hashers took Cock up on her swim check while others simply were ON OUT; getting their exercise in for the last remaining days of the year.
At circle our virgin, Candice was taught the proper way to do a Down Down, with her inverting her drink over her cranium, and welcomed into the AH3 family as her mother hash. Our long time returning visitors Just Tony and Just Olyvia (Alex) were also welcomed back, with Olyvia being called into circle for temporarily living in Guam and never having hashed there!
Plenty of shenanigans were had, laughs and drinks before we ended with Swing Low and headed to Kona Brewing Company. Sadly, they were somehow out of food (apparently so was almost everywhere else), and the kennel did an audible and pivoted to Teddy’s Bigger Burgers. Yum! But with no beer, burgers were scoffed down quickly and the hash went in peace!
